During the manufacturing process, liquid CO2 first flows into the compression cylinder of the pelletizer, where it is crystallized into dry ice flakes by the pressure drop. This dry ice flake is squeezed through an extrusion plate using a hydraulic cylinder. This forms columns of dry ice, which are then broken into dry ice pellets.
